Hi, I'm Santhya. Swiss-born, Malayalee roots, married to an Australian, raising two little sweet coconuts in Phuket.

Growing up between two worlds, I spoke Malayalam at home, carried chai to my grandfather in Kerala every summer, and navigated Swiss precision every other day of the year.
I speak Malayalam, English, German, Swiss German and conversational Spanish.
Not because I studied them. Because life took me there.

And life took me to many places.

Switzerland. Costa Rica. Sydney. Bali. Ho Chi Minh. Phuket.

In 2019 I left Switzerland with my husband William, 40kg of luggage, a little savings and zero plan. We were done with the 9-5 stable life. We wanted something different. To be somewhere in the middle of the world, close to both our families, free to live on our own terms.

Then Covid happened.

William ended up in Vietnam for work. I ended up in Australian quarantine alone, and pregnant with our first daughter Naila. We were separated for seven months.

When the world opened up again, the only place we could go was Thailand. We landed in Phuket thinking we'd stay a few months.

Five years later. Still here. With two children, a life we love and a deep knowledge of this island that only comes from actually living it.
